Make sure you lightly season your brussel sprouts before you grill them. They can be super lightly grilled, this helps the salad stay fresher longer in ther fridge and keeps it from becoming mushy. The idea of this salad is to have crisp Brussel sprouts that have grill marks so make sure not to over grill. Once the Brussel sprouts have cooled, cut and add them to a large bowl with celery, walnuts, figs, red onion, parsley and sprinkle the goat cheese on top. Lightly sprinkle the dressing to your taste. Tasting it as you go to make sure not to over dress. If you have any dressing left over, save it in your fridge and use on chicken, meat, or other salads.
If you try this recipe, please let us know what you think! Pairs well with white wine, and Prosecco.

Myrrh has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurvedic medicine. Scientists are now testing the oil’s potential uses, including for pain, infections, and skin sores (
Here are 10 science-based health benefits and uses of myrrh essential oil.
Ancient Egyptians used myrrh and other essential oils to embalm mummies, as the oils not only provide a nice scent but also slow decay. Scientists now know this is because the oils kill bacteria and other microbes (
Additionally, in Biblical times, myrrh incense — often in combination with frankincense — was burned in places of worship to help purify the air and prevent the spread of contagious diseases, including those caused by bacteria.
One recent study found that burning myrrh and frankincense incense reduced airborne bacterial counts by 68% (
Preliminary animal research suggests that myrrh can directly kill bacteria, as well as stimulate the immune system to make more white blood cells, which also kill bacteria (
In test-tube studies, myrrh oil has strong effects against several infectious bacteria, including some drug-resistant ones (3,
In one test-tube study, myrrh oil at a low dilution of 0.1% killed all dormant Lyme disease bacteria, which can persist in some people after antibiotic treatment and continue to cause illness (
Still, more studies are needed to determine whether myrrh oil can treat persistent Lyme infections.
Shop Manifestation Elixir Here...
Due to its antimicrobial properties, myrrh has traditionally been used to treat oral infections and inflammation (
Some natural mouthwashes and toothpaste contain myrrh oil, which is approved as a flavoring by the FDA (
What’s more, when people with Behcet’s disease — an inflammatory disorder — used a myrrh mouthwash to treat painful mouth sores four times daily for a week, 50% of them had complete pain relief and 19% had complete healing of their mouth sores (15).
Test-tube studies suggest that mouthwash containing myrrh oil may also help gingivitis, which is inflammation of the gums around your teeth due to a buildup of plaque (
Yet, more studies are needed to confirm these benefits.
Keep in mind that you should never swallow myrrh oral-care products, as high doses of myrrh can be toxic (15).
Additionally, if you have oral surgery, it may be best to avoid myrrh mouthwash during healing. A test-tube study found that stitches — especially silk ones — can degrade when exposed to myrrh, though they held up in the doses typically found in mouthwash (
Traditional uses of myrrh include treating skin wounds and infections. Today, scientists are testing these applications (
One test-tube study of human skin cells found that an essential oil blend containing myrrh helped heal wounds (
Another study noted that myrrh and other essential oils applied via baths helped mothers heal skin wounds from vaginal deliveries (
However, multiple oils were used simultaneously in these studies, so the individual effects of myrrh for wound healing are unclear.
Specific studies on myrrh oil are more telling.
A test-tube study on 247 different essential oil combinations found that myrrh oil mixed with sandalwood oil was especially effective at killing microbes that infect skin wounds (
Additionally, in one test-tube study, myrrh oil alone inhibited 43–61% of the growth of five fungi that cause skin conditions, including ringworm and athlete’s foot (
Human research is needed to confirm these benefits. However, if you want to try myrrh for general skin health, many natural ointments and soaps contain it. You can also apply diluted myrrh oil directly on your skin.
Pain — such as headaches, joint pain and back pain — is a common complaint.
Myrrh oil contains compounds that interact with opioid receptors and tell your brain you’re not in pain. Myrrh also blocks the production of inflammatory chemicals that can lead to swelling and pain (
When people prone to headaches took a multi-ingredient supplement containing myrrh’s pain-relieving compounds, their headache pain was reduced by about two-thirds during the six-month study (23).
Further research is needed to confirm these benefits. The supplement tested isn’t available in the US, and ingesting myrrh oil is not recommended.
You can buy myrrh-containing homeopathic rubbing oils and other essential oils meant to relieve pain when applied directly to sore body parts. However, these haven’t been studied.
Myrrh may be a powerful antioxidant, a compound that combats oxidative damage.
Oxidative damage from free radicals contributes to aging and some diseases.
A test-tube study found that myrrh oil was more effective than vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant, at fighting free radicals (
Additionally, in an animal study, myrrh oil helped protect the liver against lead-induced oxidative damage in direct proportion to the amount of myrrh given prior to lead exposure (
It isn’t known whether inhaling myrrh oil or applying it topically — which are two safe uses of myrrh oil for people — helps protect your body against oxidative damage.
You can become infected with parasites from many sources, including pets, sexual activity and contaminated food or water (
Two common parasitic infections in the US are trichomoniasis, a sexually transmitted disease, and giardiasis, an intestinal infection (
In a preliminary study, women who failed to respond to standard drug treatment for trichomoniasis were given an oral drug, Mirazid, made of myrrh sap and its essential oil. About 85% of them were cured of the infection (
Additionally, an animal study found that the same myrrh drug effectively treated giardiasis (
Some human research suggests that this myrrh drug also may be effective against the parasite Fasciola gigantica, which can cause liver and bile duct diseases. However, other studies failed to see a benefit (33,
Mirazid is not widely prescribed at this time.
Though more research is needed, myrrh and its oil may prove helpful for treating parasites, especially in cases of drug resistance. Ingesting myrrh oil is not advised, and long-term safety must be assessed (
Scientists are testing other potential uses for myrrh oil and its beneficial compounds. The following applications are under study:
Saint Michael:
Saint Michael the Archangel is referenced in the Old Testament and has been part of Christian teachings since the earliest times.
The Prayer to Saint Michael reads:
"Saint Michael the archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan, and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Another prayer to St. Michael for protection is found in the Carmina Gadelica, collected by Alexander Carmichael in the Gaelic-speaking regions of Scotland.

]]>BelleStyle Cookbook: Harvest Beet Salad
You will need:
2-3 Roasted Beets (diced small)
1/4 C. Red Onions (sliced thin)
1/4 C. Shredded Parmesan cheese
1/4 C. Roasted Pistachios
1 TSP Italian Parsley
1-2 Purple Endive (sliced long and thin)
2 C. Spring Mix ( baby spinach, red leaf, green leaf, arugula)
1/4 C. Cojita or Feta Cheese Crumbles
Sea salt & pepper
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Juice of one lemon
How to Make:
Spread the spring mix on the bottom of a low round serving bowl. Next place beets, red onions, pistachios, Parmesan, parsley, sea salt, pepper.
Lay the cut endive around the bowl on the outside rim for decoration.
Sprinkle olive oil, salt and pepper, 1/4 Lemon juice and optional balsamic vinegar or your favorite vinegar sprinkled on top.
Serve it mix with our sustainable wood spoons.
And warm artisan bread like sourdough, ciabatta or French works really well together.
Tip for roasting beets: I just cut the top and bottom off the beet and wrap in aluminum foil. Drizzle with olive oil and cover the top with sea salt. I use a lot of sea salt while roasting. Since the skin is still on the beets, when you cut the skin off after they are done the beets do not taste salty. But the salt gives them a nice deep flavor profile.

]]>Finding Your Amulet
Many of us have something we wear or carry to bring us luck. A small token that helps us feel safe. It may be a piece of jewelry, or perhaps a particular article of clothing, a crystal. Whatever it is, it’s something that means a lot to us, something we don’t like to be parted from, something that often provides a physical link to a significant memory, person or place that we treasure. This is an amulet or charm, and it can be a powerful focus for your positive energies when you summon your Angel, spirit guide, our inner strength.
Finding Your Intuition
Intuition is our ability to know something without having learned it- an instinctive knowledge that isn’t based on logical reasoning or study. It’s part gut, feeling, part “sixth sense” and part messages from our subconscious. It’s a natural talent that we all have to a greater or lesser extent, and the more we use it, the better it becomes. Intuition can be of enormous benefit to our lives. So how can crystals help you develop it? Meditation works, and learning to pay attention to dreams. Keeping a dream journal is important for this, as you try to work out what the dream was telling you. Learn to trust your hunches.
Place your crystals near your bed or in your bedroom, work space or any room you spend a lot of time in. Hang you amulet in your rearview mirror or around your neck. Thinking positive, good thoughts while touching your amulet helps open your mind to your intuition and allows thoughts to enter your mind that might have been stuck or not released for awhile. Trust in your “gut”. the small voice that we all have inside us.

Toast: Union Loafers, St. Louis Mo
Pesto: BelleStyle
Heirloom Tomatoes: Amish Country Farms
Greens: Micro Meadows Urban Farming in Wildwood, Mo
EVOL: Trader Joe’s
Himalayan Sea Salt: Trader Joe’s
Olive Wood Cutting Board: Trader Joe’s
BelleStyle Simple Pesto Ingredients:
1-2 Cups Fresh Basil Leaves
1 juice of a fresh Lemon (no seeds)
1/2 Cup Pine Nuts
Sea Salt & Pepper
2-4 Cloves of fresh garlic
1 Cup EVOL (extra virgin olive oil)
This simple pesto whips up in seconds and lasts in the fridge for about 2 weeks in an air tight container. For longer use, you can always freeze this pesto. It works well in ice cube tray frozen and then you can just take out however many cubes you want to cook with in the winter.
Pesto is an Italian spread that can be used in so many ways. The fresh garlic and basil combined gives you a super packed heart healthy super food infusion into your dish.
Pesto can be made with a variety of nuts. Try cashews, almonds, pistachios, or pumpkin seeds as alternatives to Pine nuts. Explore the different nutty flavors each nut gives the pesto.
Spread pesto on toast (above), pasta, tomato sauce, omelettes and frittatas. Serve pesto with hummus on a cheese board for added flavor. I love using this pesto with our Beyond Burgers, but it also tastes amazing on Organic Beef Burgers with mozzarella cheese, Chicken Sandwiches, Caprese Sandwiches.
You will find new ways to eat this pesto and when you do, please comment on how you served your BelleStyle Pesto. We would love to hear from you!
Notes:
When I make this for my kids, I only use 2 cloves of garlic. When cooking for adults, I use 4. The more garlic the “more spicy” according to my 6 year old.
This recipe yields about 3/4 cup of Pesto so if you want to make more, you will have to double or triple this recipe. It takes a lot of basil leaves to make pesto.
For creamier pesto, add a little water till desired consistency. For chunky pesto, pulse or blend past in a vita mix or food processor. Add sea salt and pepper to taste.

Ingredients:
Angel Food Cake: 1 box
Ice Cream: 2- Half gallons (I love Chocolate and coffee, my kids love Chocolate and Mint Chocolate Chip) The pictures from this cake are Chocolate & Mint chocolate Chip Ice Cream from Trader Joe’s.
Cool Whip: One Container
Heath bar pieces: 1-2 bags
How To Make:
Follow the directions on the Angel food cake box. Bake cake until golden brown on top. Once out of the oven, flip cake over on top of a glass wine or water bottle so that it cools upside down. It usually takes about an hour to totally cool. You will want the cake totally cool to the touch before you cut it. It’s way easier to cut if it’s cool and you want the cut to be straight. Once cooled, cut into three sections.
Take out your two or three half gallons of ice cream to cool with the cool whip. The trick to this easy cake is to have the ice cream and the cool whip totally soft because it makes it way easier to spread on the layers of the cake.
Take to largest layer and place it on the bottom of a cake stand or marble stand. Make sure that it can fit into your freezer, and that there is already a spot for your cake in the freezer so that you can put it immediately to prevent melting.
Spread one of your ice cream flavors on the bottom layer about an 1-2 inches thick. Spread a light layer of cool whip, and sprinkle the heath bar. Add your middle cake layer and press down lightly. Spread your second ice cream choice on the cake about 1-2 inches thick and repeat with the cool whip and heath bar topping.
Lastly add the final layer of the Angel food cake. This should be put upside down so that the top is flat to finish spreading the cake. Press down again very lightly to secure the other layers in place. Spread your remaining Ice cream on the top or if you choose to have three flavors this is where your third flavor would go. about 1 inch thick on top to make the cake not too top heavy. Repeat with the cool whip and add the final heath bar crunchy topping on th cake. Spread any cool whip over flow around the sides to make the cake look like finished.
Immediate place into your freezer. Lest cool for about 1-2 hours before placing tin foil on it, that way the topping doesn’t stick to the foil.
After fully frozen its ready to cut and eat! Enjoy! And if you get a chance, leave us a comment and let us know how your cake was a hit with your family! We cannot wait to see what flavors you use and how much your family loves our Grandma’s Ice Cream Cake!

The burning of sage is a historical ritual known as smudging. We all worry about poor air quality and sage is a cost effective ancient way to purify the air.
Sage is thought to have antimicrobial properties that help kill bacteria, viruses and fungi.
Some practitioners of alternative medicine believe that burning sage can help release “negative energy”.
Some of the benefits of burning or smudging include:
Steps for Burning Sage
1. You will need something in which to burn the sage. This could be an incense tray or a bowl to catch the ashes as the sage burns. You could also purchase a crystal glass dish from our website, perfect for smudging. Fill it with earth or sand. Don't use a flammable container and keep water on hand.
2. Open a window or door before you start burning the sage. This allows the smoke to exit your house.
3. Put the sage in the burning container and light it. Let it burn for several seconds and then blow it out so that it keeps smoking. If it stops emitting smoke, try lighting it again.
4. If you are using the sage for spiritual purposes, set an intention for what you are doing. This is kind of like saying that you are starting a new beginning. For example, you might say "Let this be the day that changes start to take place." Or one I use a lot on our home, “Let this home be protected”.
5. Walk to each room you wish to purify and let the smoke enter it. Do not allow any space to fill with too much smoke. Avoid inhaling the smoke directly.
You Will Need:

To Play:
Bring three balls for the children to throw at the cup prizes, if they break apart a cup then they get to keep the prize inside! If they don’t break the cup with a ball, no worries! They can also punch in the cup with their hand and get the prize. Super simple, everyone wins. Repeat until everyone is smiling and has had as many turns as you prepared for.

BelleStyle Vegan Fall Soup Ingredients:
2 cups Oatly Oat Milk, (you can substitute for regular milk or cream of you want it to be richer in taste. i made mine with Oat milk and it was still full of flavor.)
How To:
This super easy soup just sits on your stove simmering until you have time to blend it.
Start with a large pot and heat on medium. Add the olive oil, onions and garlic and stir for a few minutes. Let them sweat. Add carrots, celery, bay leaves, salt, pepper, turmeric, ginger and nutmeg and let it all sweat together for a few minutes.

There is no wrong way to make this soup. Follow your senses and smell often too see if you want more ginger or salt for example. It should smell fresh and inviting. Simmer on low for 30-40 minutes. Don’t worry if your soup is looks thick. After it cools for a little, add soup to a blender, and add oat milk, cream or regular milk. Blend until smooth. Salt and pepper to taste.

Our latest inspirations are french quotes that we love to put on natural back drops. These images were taken in Ranchos Palos Verdes, Ca while on a Oceanside hike.
I love the sea grass, it’s swaying in all different directions from the ocean breeze.
The rocks were from a hidden beach off the path of the hiking trail. A beach full of smooth oval and round grey stones in every hue of grey we love.
The view is looking back over a cliff towards a vintage lighthouse. I tried to get closer, but the antique gate that surrounded it was locked. It only let you visit on specific days and times. So beautiful. It was surrounded by a park, visitor center and benches all outside the gate. It almost seemed holy or special in some way. I love lighthouses, always have. They hold memories, they guide int dark times, they see what the sailor cannot.
The final image was of this amazing yellowing mustard, orange shell I found by the sea. the shell was so interesting I had not seen anything like it ever in my life.

So much in fact I’ve decided to create a CookBook from the recipes I cook for my family. When cooking, I try and sneak superfoods into the dishes so they are eating goodness like tumeric, maca, cinnamon, garlic to name just a few. They just don’t know why the dish is so hearty and amazing.

BelleStyle Jade and Rose Quartz rollers are made of all natural semi-precious stones. They have a longer side and shorter size. The longer side is perfect for your forehead, and the shorter size fits under your eyes just right.
These rollers are a great way to fit crystal healing into your everyday routine! Crystal Rollers have been used in Chinese skincare routines since the 7th century.
Jade and Quartz are known to have healing and protective properties.
BelleStyle Jade and Rose Quartz Rollers help dark circles around your eyes. They smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, while reducing inflammation due to stagnation of the lymphatic system. Rolling these stones on your face everyday will brighten your skin, tighten your pores and increase blood circulation.
How to Use: When massaging your face with the roller, start at the center of the face under the eyes and cheekbones and moving out towards the hairline.
